I am glad they finally did lol. I've seen several articles (including Car and Driver) where the CT5 BW comes first over the competition. But it looks like Motortrend had the auto version and not the manual of the BW this time. It makes me wonder if it would of been a different result with the manual.

They sure did nit pick the M5 CS. Too thick of a steering wheel? Too many buttons? I guess programming M1/M2 to what you like and having to press it at most twice to activate it is too much for these guys. Also, I love the front seats. A little bit of a pain getting out, but that's it.

Does the CS have the same steering wheel as the regular M5?

I have thought the steering wheel was too thick since I got the car (M5c) last summer. My E90M3 wheel was much more comfortable - especially on long drives. The steering wheel thickness is my biggest gripe with the car.

No it has an alcantara steering wheel. It's not thin by any means but also not so thick I'd complain.

i thought the brakes on the CS bit really hard under light pressure.. if they are saying they liked the BW's brake's better, thats nuts.

All the cars look great and perform well, can't go wrong with any of them. And all 3 are likely the last great v8 sedans from each marque.

Yay, here's the verdict: The M5 CS is the greatest sport sedan in the land.

Agreed, I find it funny reading these reviews or seeing review videos about how cumbersome the BMW is to put into sport modes or launch control.

If you set it up with one button being your favorite everyday sport driving preferences, and one set up for launch control, its literally 1 button. Or for launch control, 1 button push, then another push to confirm. at most a .5 a second to get the desired modes.

I have a CS steering wheel on mu M5C and I love it. I believe its the exact same thickness as the other M5 steering wheels? Could be wrong, but its just the alcantara thats the difference to my knowledge.

the manual V8 is hard to ignore not too mention the strong price difference. If you're looking at purely $/hp then the BW wins. Looks i give to the BW. Overall best definitely the M5CS.

If all you can find "wrong" with a car is buttons and thick steering wheel it means it's unbelievable haha

I didn't see the Panamera here. Not that it would make a difference to the final winner, but the Panamera is a competitor in this class.

Also, the GT63 is mighty impressive considering it is much heavier and barely slower than the BMW.

Worse actually. AMG still makes them, they just won't sell them in the US. That goes for the GT63s, E63s, and several others with the 4.0 V8. AMG never gave a good explanation, but the suspicion is either an emissions issue or a fuel economy issue.

Rumor has it that AMG will sell cars with the 4.0 V8 in the US again when they have the hybrid version, so it probably is a fuel economy issue.

I thought that they've stopped importing those 4.0 liter V8 because of reliability being bad.

I think I read somewhere a while back that the alcantara CS wheel is actually thinner than the standard leather M5 wheel.

Mine is "only" a comp and I wanted a Blackwing but after 6 months in the M5 I don't anymore.

V8 C63 Coupe/Cab, E63S Sedan/Wagon, and GT63S are back and order-able for MY23 but in very limited numbers. I think they may be cashing in on EQS credits.

I, too, laugh at complaints about buttons or steering wheel thickness. That is truly nit picking at its finest.

It's definitely crazy that gt63s is about 700lbs heavier and still nearly as fast as M5cs, how is that possible?

I drove a Blackwing, and it's truly amazing:

https://machineswithsouls.com/2022/0...ckwing-review/

Then, I drove a GT 53 because the V8 is on sabbatical, and though I missed the power, even with it I doubt it would change my mind about how that car should be driven. It's not nearly as sporty:

https://machineswithsouls.com/2022/0...-gt-53-review/

Now this week, I have an M5 Comp. though I have driven the CS and find it to be a better version overall, the Comp is still amazing. I'd have it over my G80.

Would I pick it over the Blackwing? I hate to cop out but it depends on price and essentially what you expect from your businessman's express.
