Sirius Radio Dealer Install?
Has anyone had sirius radio installed at the dealer. Cost? Worth it?
When I picked up my car sales rep said around $500, parts saying $1300? Have idrive on my car - understand that a module and flash is all that is required. Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this. |

Got mine installed Tuesday. $840 total (non-idrive). I ordered the part through the dealer, took 4 days to arrive. This includes the free year of Sirius service as well.

Sirius is incredibly simple to install on your own, you only need the dealer for activation.

Did you install it yourself or did the dealer? Will they fix it for you soon?
I've ordered the sirius module from EAS and will need to get the dealer to program the car. So I'm cuious on how your install turns out. |

I had mine done at the dealer - just ordered the part from them and they did the complete install. They didnt get to my car until later in the day and I had to leave it over night for them to finish the software update. Got it back the next morning with no problems. Apparently the software update take 4-6 hours (or something like that) if there is a problem it has to start from the beginning.

Yes - you have to contact sirius directly - when Sirius puts in the module serial number it shows as 1 free year as part of a manufacturers program. |

Finally working.
I drive a lot, so Sirius radio is great. Overall cost was around $1000, including parts, labour and tax.

I love the sat radio - not interested in listening to commericals. I too spend a lot of time in the car. That price sounds about right - just need to get it installed in the X5 now. |
