A jury has ruled in favour of Johnny Depp in his libel lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard, vindicating his stance that Heard fabricated claims that she was abused by Depp before and during their brief marriage.

The jury also found in favour of Heard, who said she was defamed by Depp's lawyer when he called her abuse allegations a hoax.

Jury members found Depp should be awarded $US15 million in damages, while Heard should receive $2 million.




After their divorce, Heard applied for spousal support, asking for US$50,000 per month to cover various expenses, including US$10,000 for rent, US$2000 for eating out, and US$10,000 for pet supplies and legal costs.

At the time, she said she was only making a small income including US$27,000 in film royalties, and proved her savings only amounted to US$25,000 at the time, according to Celebrity Net Worth. She later withdrew the claim.

Heard is worth an estimated US$2.5 million.

She probably is crazy but he's a drug addict who was no doubt toxic to her. She was probably toxic as hell to him also.

I've never seen more one sided support in my life. There are more than 4M signatures asking her to be removed from Aquaman2. She tried to cancel him and he drove a truck over her corpse. Fascinating

I don't think he was ever after the money. I think he could care less, but he did want her exposed.

Johnny deserved to win. His vindication is so important for him to regain his reputation, which was criminally stolen by Amber (unfortunately, if not a crime to ruin someone's reputation).

Victims come in both genders. Female abusers are rarely talked about. This is not to minimize abuse that women go through. Amber did more damage to female credibility than any woman in recent memory. Females should be up in arms because now people will question a woman who makes claims of abuse. At the same time, Amber did shed light on how men can be the victims of abuse.

Hopefully she'll crawl into a hole and disappear and hopefully Johnny will stop hitting the bottle and clean up his life.
