Amateur HDRI shot

Just bought my first SLR camera and wanted to try out some HDRI shots. Would love some tips on how to take and make better HDRI photos.

Pesronally I like it better with a bit more color... Like this. How many exposure did you take ? In this case I think the lightning condition don't really need HDR...

You need to find a photo where you have dark, and bright areas at the same time to get the best effect.

Looking at the interest on HDR, I think we should have an official HDR thread

How did you do brighten it like that?! What program did you use?

And yes, an HDR thread would be awesome... start it up!

I used Aperture... Played with exposure/contrast/saturation/vibrance of the color. You can do similar things with Photoshop, but I don't find it as intuitive.

Can you post the original shots (exposure here) ? What did you use to combine them in HDR and tonemap ? Photoshop ? Photomatix ?

I just deleted the raw files... yikes. I used Photomatix to combine and edit. I believe the exposures I used were -2, 0, 2. Just got my camera two days ago... so I have no idea what I'm doing.

tip: you wante to bring up the lumosity all the way and it will reduce the "halo" effect that you see under the car.

best way to get good at it is play around till you see what you like.
I've also find my hdr's come out better by using 1 RAW image instead of the bracketing effect (which I know is the right way to do it but...) and letting photomatix decide what other exposures to use.

PM me if you have any more questions... I've given a few tutorials to members before.
