A friend asked me if anyone has replaced the silver kidney grille with the black grille that is designated with the Msport package. He likes the black look but chose not to deviate from Xline.

Have any of you ever done this? I told him I would post in order to get a few opinions.

Do you think this action would enhance or detract from the vehicle?
And, where would you buy the original black grille if he proceeded with this idea?

I removed my grill and put the oem shadowline grill in. Took literally 2 minutes, was the easiest mod yet.

There are some oem options on eBay from time to time or bimmerworld.com would probably have something for a little less than the dealership would charge.

I love the look of black trim on a vehicle so for me it was an easy decision.

Not sure how important the part number is, a quick visit to eBay and you'll have plenty of factory oem options.
