Joined the BMW family... 2022 X5 xDrive40i in Grigio Telesto Grey

I've been car shopping for the last month or so and it's been extremely difficult to find something like I like due to my specific tastes/wants and the new car inventory. I was keen to get the 50i but after coming across this 40i in this color and trim I jumped on it. No regrets!

I've only had it for 2 days and the more I drive it the more I love it. Despite chip shortages it still has soft close and touch screen. Only thing missing is upgraded sound system. Hoping I can find a local shop to upgrade that.

go with the Bimmertech Alpha amp. Its all you need. An amazing upgrade. Just put it in my 2022 X6 40i bc of the same reason you mentioned. Incredibly noticeable upgrade from the first moment. And you can do it yourself at home

Thanks for the tip! You just did the Amplifier and kept the speakers the same?

I just spoke with a Bimmertech rep because I noticed that the amp is only available in a package with speakers. Due to the chip shortage they don't sell the amp on its own currently. Did you purchase it before the chip shortage or from a different distributor?

As we waited an extra month for that color on top of the regular duration of an order (all in 4 months), surprised that a dealer would not only have it on the lot, but also have invested in the individual color to begin with. We have the same color but with a V-8. Great color.

Thank you! They were trying to sell my on a Carbon Black Metallic M50i but it did not have the black grill or carbon trim. It was also missing a couple options like soft close. I wasn't a fan of the carbon metallic either since I prefer pure black over the blue tint. I decided to do one last look at their inventory and stumbled across this. As soon as I checked it out in person I fell in love.

Agreed! The carbon mirrors look amazing with the paint color.

Agreed! I was shocked. They even had the front windows tinted which was a big bonus, although not sure how long until the cops ticket me for it. This car with the M50i & upgraded speakers would have been absolutely perfect. But I'm grateful to have gotten what I got given the market.

Hoping to keep it a year or two and possibly build a new one once shortages are alleviated. But who knows I may just fall further in love and keep it.

I bought from them about a month ago, that's sad it changed since then but I guess I am not surprised!
