M5cs va standard or m5c

Has anyone raced their m5cs vs a standard m5 or m5c? I have an m5cs which is now broken in and past the running in stage, shortly owned a 2019 standard m5 with 5k miles and traded that recently for a 2022 standard m5.

All three stock for stock, the m5cs is the slowest by far. The 2022 standard m5 is faster than 2019 standard, while the cs is quite a bit slower it definitely does not have that low end torque hit like all of most f90 do. I'm guessing they changed the torque output for track purposes, however the power should be there up high and it's not.

All cars are stock, nothing different and all broken in and same fluids in them. And there are no codes there is nothing wrong with the cs it's just a slowski 😂

Cool story, I raced another member's F90 on here and it was essentially the same. My car wasn't broken in, but neither of us pulled ahead. I think he had a racechip but not certain.

On track at VIR, I'm about 3 seconds a lap faster in the CS. But, can always be suspension or brake improvement rather than power.

Does this correlate to carwow drags or other?

Go to 26:40… drag race and rolling race. During the rolling race the non-CS gets a jump (bad gear for CS it seems) but it reels it back in rather quickly.

This is a dyno of a friend of mine's m5cs. Mods were eventuri intakes, eisenmann secondary cat delete pipes and mufflers. Pretty terrible numbers which at the time I thought it was due to the eventuri intakes getting heat soak, however now that I'm experiencing my own car be slow as hell, this dyno correlates to what i feel in the car.

It seems like the m5cs has a tune on it that is reducing torque which definitely helps on the track, it makes for a slower car in any on road driving situation. My draggy is lost somewhere in my garage so I will have another one in a few days and I will get solid info to share regarding my two cars. At first I thought the car needed to get the running in procedure turned off and then it would be faster but after doing that tonight - I can say that of the three f90 I have owned, the m5cs is by far slowest. The 2019 with 5k miles that I traded in a few weeks ago was faster than the cs and this new 2022 I have is even faster than that car out of the box. While the cs is just missing thst low end torque hit that the f90 is known for.

On one of the Facebook groups, someone in a m5c beat up an m5cs pretty bad, I thought it was propaganda when I saw it a few months ago but now I see it is becoming truth. I don't care if the car is not as fast On road as my other 2022, as it enables you to use more of the powerband - however I am not sure this car is capable of 2.6 0-60 which is what I read about the car while I waited for it for 9 months last year.

This is the running in deactivation that bmw turns off when you go in for 1200 mile service in case anyone is unsure what I am talking about.

On my 2021 x6m comp, deactivation of this enabled sport+ to be engaged. On these two 2022 m5, sport+ was enabled from factory so I feel this deactivation is doing nothing to engine settings or engine mapping. So no power gain is to be expected or at least that is what I have experienced with both of my m5.

Could just be your butt dyno, the cs is faster 0-60 and in the quarter mile though not by much which would mean power is about the same and so is torque and the weight savings just help it that bit more.

More than welcome to come by and drive them both like I offered a few weeks ago. Excited to see yours with the mperformance exhaust.

Should be really interesting. As Vic said above, the Carwow M5 Comp has something definitely amiss with it.

Draggy came in. To my surprise, the numbers are pretty close I was expecting the m5cs to be a good amout slower than the m5. I believe that dyno above to be true. The m5cs may be the most powerful horsepower car ever made but I feel the torque is significantly lower. They do this for racetrack handling, the car almost feels naturally aspirated up high as the torque drops. While the 2022 standard m5 is a torque monster and pushes back into your seat.

For these I did two launches sport plus, in d3 and no launch control. I suspect you could get to 2.9 but I dont see either of these cars getting 2.6 to 60. I did a 2.7 to 60 in a customers car but that is a 4.6L and was around 36psi. It is running 43psi now and is a 9.70 car even 9.6x

I'm a data person so I thought I would share. Anyone who buys an m5cs, they should drive another stock m5 it feels like a completely different powerband.

Both cars have same fluids front to back
M5cs has 2k miles
M5 has 900

Both have afe scoops, charcoal delete, bmc filters on m5cs, stock on m5

Attached.
Important to note. Both cars have running in procedure turned off.

M5 is 2022 carbon roof, steel brakes, mperformance wheels
M5cs is what it is

Both cars have no options. So my 2022 is lightest you can get for a 2022 sans the cf rotors which I will install when I find a cherry set.

2022 is standard m5, not competition.

Which car is on the left and which is on the right! Never mind that is what happens when you view on a cell phone. I thought 0-60 would be closer to 3.0 seconds or even less.

I believe test cars are preproduction and have different engine maps. When more videos hit YouTube and Facebook groups or m5cs losing races, come back to this post and it will explain to you.
