Dinan Springs Installed w/pics

I finally got around to posting some pics of the finished product. The drop is modest, but as advertised at 1/2 inch. I wanted to keep everyday drivability, including Chicago winters, so I am happy with the end result.

In case the pictures don't do the drop justice, here is how I would describe it: There is now a bit more than a 1 finger gap up front, versus a bit more than 2 stock. The drop in the rear is proportional to the front.

Also, the pics were taken with Blizzak LM-25's mounted for the winter. I will get to put them to the test tomorrow...

Hope this helps.

Thank u very much. Finally someone has them. However, I think the drop is way too little to justify the 900 dollar price tag.

The drop is subtle, but WAY better than stock up front. THe ride and handling is great.

If this were a garage queen, I might have gone with a bigger drop.

you mean the v3's? that drop looks almost stock, the front does look a bit better though. I think i'll still go with h&r unless i get more feedback on the RDsports..

What was the cost total installed? How much labor did they charge? How's the ride (understand you're on winter tires now tho)? Who did your install work?

Springs are $900 thru Dinan. Install was done thru an authorized Dinan dealer (Laurel BMW). Book rate is based on 8.9 hours of labor, which is also consistent with what others on the board have seen from non-Dinan installs. We all know that 8.9 hours is way too long, but it is what it is. Rate was $120/hour.

So, you are talking about $2000 installed at the end of the day.

Excuse me what? 8.9 hours??? Dude you have got to be kidding me. There is a DIY for changing the springs and I think even you or I could do the install in 2 hours. That is unreal they would charge you that much.

I did the springs on my 911 in just over 4 hours, and that was the first time I had ever attempted a spring change... So yes, 8.9 hours did seem a bit excessive. How do you think shops make money??? Bill on book time, perform at actual time. This is nothing unique to BMW...

With my luck, the darn thing would bounce back and hit me in the nuts... But then again, I suppose that is the same feeling as paying 8.7 hours of labor?

I might consider these, but not at that installation price. No odd noises??

Man, that's BS $1080. My last car was ony $275 for a 4 spring install and included a wheel alignment front and rear as well.

$2000 is definitely a kick in the dink.

Do you have to have the install done by an authorized Dinan dealer for warranty purposes? Can an independent BMW garage do it and preserve warranty?
