Q for those who are lowered & have laser lights

Afternoon all- happy super bowl Sunday.

Having an issue with pissing off oncoming traffic. Since lowering my vehicle 5-6k miles ago on ASTs, each evening/night when I’m driving home from work I have multiple folks high beam me and give me the 1 finger salute thinking I’m rolling with my hi’s on.

I worry the spring obviously changed the angle of the light projected, and results in me filling the cabin of the oncoming vehicle with too much light.

What doesn’t make sense to me, is that the spring lowered the front end at a more drastic angle to where I’m more so nose down then I was from the factory?

Anyone else having a similar problem?! I don’t recall having a near the same amount of issue prior to the drop. I hate to light people up, after their aggression tho it’s kinda funny. They go from thinking I’m hi beaming them to them being on center stage at a nickelback concert….

I had an evo Where you could actually adjust the height of the projection of the headlight. Wonder if these can be adjusted? Any tricks or tips?

Anyone else?

Why nose down would shine light higher?

That’s what doesn’t make sense to me. Nose being lower should result in steam of light lower as well, right?

I guess simply, is anyone else getting hi beamed over excessively 1st and foremost?

Front suspension has a level sensor that adjusts the headlights according to ride height. My guess is the laser lights are just brighter than people are used to and by coincidence, people have been flashing you after lowering.

I'm lowered on ASTs too since October and never once have i been flashed and I drive my car daily. I do also have full anti-dazzle coded so maybe that's helping.

I get flashed alot on stock height and love hitting then back. I wish the lasers in Canada functioned like they do in Europe.

Takes about 5 seconds to adjust them. Just need a 6 mm allen key.

I’m lowered on ASTs and haven’t experience anyone flashing me. I’d chalk it up to coincidence.

Line your self up with a wall on a flat surface to see and measure the line you see. I would park like six feet away then measure and maybe another member who is lowered can do the same. So you have a kinda point of reference.

I would never manually adjust my headlights. There is just too much that can go wrong. You'll end up with your headlights pointing in all different directions. It's like trying to eyeball your wheel alignment.

Check your level sensor and make sure they didn’t break them or put them back incorrectly

My daily driver is a GMC Sierra 1500 AT4. It really has quite good LED lights.
Sits basically normal height for a 4WD truck. Which naturally
Means it’s taller than passenger cars.

At night if I’m across from someone it shines directly into their eye line,
unfortunately . Nothing I can do about it. But 4/10 people just assume I have high beams on so they flash their high beams at me and then proceed to flash them at a rapid pace by pulling their stalk back 50 times, in anger…

My response is to do the same and actually show them the high beam. Only then has it registered to them that maybe it’s just a pickup truck that’s higher than their car .

For their lack of brain use , I take great pleasure in blinding them.

BTW my car is lowered on KW HAS. My lights ended up way too low after the work was done. One full turn counter clockwise fixed the problem. The lights are designed to have the height adjusted, there is no magic to it. Have done it on all of my BMW's for years since I think they come way too low from the factory usually.

Low is understandable after lowering but usually if they are high after lowering, the sensor being incorrectly set or broken can be a culprit. Not sure why they default to high vs low.

Known issue across the several M’s I’ve owned and for some reason or another, I or a shop has broken or installed incorrectly at some point lol

All of this has been super helpful!

Where is this sensor that might be broken be located? My car is currently at dealer for service, so I will look into this as soon as I retrieve.

I'm wondering if either:
A. My sensor is broken
B. The shop that installed my springs and spacers adjusted as salespunk describes and made an over correction.

I sincerely feel like with my experience vs with what you all are sharing points to something not being right with mine.

I'm not an overly sensitive person lol, I assure you I can drag a county road heading home for 1-2 miles and I can have multiple different parties independently flash me as they pass.

I also back up me having an issue due to the fact that I can see into their vehicle in black night, and clearly see them letting me know I'm #1!

As funny as it is, I do feel bad. I think I'm angled too high and am going to try and adjust. Thanks Salespunk

Any tips or tricks, or really that easy?

It's in the process of being legalized. Practically, since the obnoxious people who drive around with their high beams on do not get ticketed 99.9% of the time, nothing's going to happen for this either. Totally depends on if you're a by-the-book person or if you look at what practically improves safety for everyone.

It is but as the other poster addressed, they're finally legalizing it... with that said I paid a forum member on here to code the feature in to be 100% functional. One of the best mods to do on the car, personally. Driving at night is so much better.
