Why do all the reviewers keep talking about 'supercars' in relation to this car because its quick in a straight line (as are the regular M5's), its so lazy. It's slower around the Nordschelife than a 718 GT4, which is by no definition a supercar. Its barely a second faster than a G80 M3.
But who actually cares about any of that, surely the magic of this car is the way it all comes together in the most coherent package since the e9x M3. I'd own one in a heartbeat given the chance. |

I still wish they had a factory ring time. The sport auto time doesn't look good next to the AMG's factory time.
Other than that, a great video from Rory! Almost one year after BMW officially unveiled the car. |

They have to compare it to supercars because there's no competition in its own class. This thing is a beast. BMW delivered an amazing car. Wonder how the M4 CSL and M3 CS will perform.

I’ll take that a step further and say they aren’t shitty to drive, they are shitty to get in and out of. I’ve driven Ferraris and Lamborghinis and I always feel like it’s easier to just fall out of them and stand up than to get out normally. Not practical for a DD but they aren’t made to be.

I'm not saying any F90 M5 variant is necessarily better than those types of cars, only that I can see it as possible that someone's tastes may prefer it because it also is not much worse than some of the more lame cars in this category. |
