Help Needed on Brembo front 4-pot 380mm

Hi Bros,

My ride is a E90 323i. Got a used set of Brembo front 4-pot kit that come with a 380mm X 32mm rotor recently. After installation, noticed that there was a little gap between the pad and the side of rotor, as shown in the picture below. Does any bro here that has installed a Brembo Front 4-pot kit with 380mm rotor got similar issue? Is this normal for this kit (1H1 9011A)? Or is there any part no. that might have gone wrong? As according to the seller, it was removed from his E90 325i which has been driven without any issue.

Any help or advise is truly appreciated. Thanks guys.

It looks like you have the pads retracted all the way and you have a gap on the inboard side. The best way to check your issue is to measure from the center of the rotor to the sides of the caliper. The rotor needs to be centered in the caliper. If it is not you might be able to add shims/washers between the caliper body and the mounting points. I've had to do this a few times on Porsches when upgrading to Big Reds. I'd use an aircraft grade washer since they have parallel sides. I wouldn’t get one from Home Depot. Don't forget the bolt length. If you need more than a couple of turns you may need longer bolts. Not a place you want to skimp.

This does not look correct. The pad overhang will eventually cause a horrendous squeal as those pads wear down. I would check part numbers to make sure you've got all the right bits. Maybe one of the guys or gals over at Race Technologies could help you sort it out?

You wouldn't have any washers installed between the caliper and the bracket, would you?
