What to do to my new 330

Hey guys, My E90 is on the boat and i cant wait....
I want to do minor things to it at first, maybe intake, K&N filter, etc and i was looking for suggestions of what you have found to be beneficial (i read about removing the charcoal filter?).

Furthermore I want to tint it. My current S4 (being retired in the comign weeks) is tinted black on a silver car, but my 330i is sapphire black with ZSP. My dilemma is that I am not sure if the black on black on black (interior) look is what i am going for and wanted to see what you thought about a darker blue tint like the ones that mercedes puts on their AMG models. I am open to any suggestions
Thanks for the feedback
J

Pulleys, Drop-in filter, headers, full cat exhaust, and chip would be your best bet before forced induction. Either way, you wont get much out of these cars. Unless you want to drop 5-7k on FI, i'd say leave it stock.

BMW spend Billions on developing cars. Sure you can try to improve, but with the E90 as high tech as it is, there is no point. The 330 is a very fast car. Air intakes do not really achieve anything and apart from removing the charcoal filter from a US version M5 to achieve better performance, nothing there for the E90 either.

You could make the exhaust note sound a bit better with a 3rd party system but apart from that, not much to do really.

I have black with black and it is spectacular, so your tinting will add to it.

What are your wheels/tyres? Maybe upgrading them will add to the visual impact of the car.

Maybe run it in first and get to know the car. You are going to love it.

All the best with your new car.

Agreed!

EDIT: Check that. The chrome window trim of the 330i may not jive with the darker wheels. When I had these wheels on my e46 328i I always hated how they didn't match my chrome window trim. Although you can always swap out the trim.

A lot of people really like the 162 wheels, but they weigh a ton with runflats mounted. While you can change the intake noise with a K & N, and the exhaust note with aftermarket muffler, you won't gain squat in performance.

But get those brick shoes off the corners and it makes a substantial difference. I switched to lightweight 19" wheels, went +2 on width, and still cut off 50 lbs of unsprung weight. Definitely accelerates quicker, handles better, and I think looks better.

I would not mess with the current setup. You start changing things and might not like what you get and wasted more money. I would go with the black for tint instead of blue. The triple black on black will look great!
