Stock times/top speed for my 2022 M850i Gran Coupe (dragy)

Hi Gang,

I ran my 2022 M850i gran coupe via dragy yesterday...top speed is limited to 157mph.

other times are:

0-60: 3.6
1/4: 11.8@119
60-130: 10.2
0-130: 13.86

my plan is to burger jb4 tune it and run it again next weekend. I will update the thread at that time. here is a video with my dragy run/top speed.

edit: i am not a video making expert, sorry if my video sucks. lol

Subscribed.
Interested to see what difference there really is. I have a 19 coupe. Had the race chip and only did 0-60 testing. No difference. Sent it back. Best with 1ft roll is 3.39 right now. Seriously considering a flash tune once I do more research on what and who is really safe.

I have an M8 and had a racechip and also did not have any difference so i went back and got a jb4 and you can feel the difference
I feel like racechip work for some people and not everyone
I dont know this was my experience
I always had jb4s (not only on bmw ) and i had no issues with significant bump in power although it is not as smooth as a flash tune for sure

What made you go RC route instead of JB4?

I have a Racechip in my m850i and I think it's almost a full second faster than stock.

they were the same price but I heard the JB4 can be glitchy...my real goal is a eurocharged or similar tune once this dang ecu is unlocked.

I know the Jb4 is a nice gain on M8- M8 competition. Not so much on my slow car 😔😁

My RC was causing limp modes all the time to a point that not even the techs here in Florida or in Germany could figure out the problem (they told me that RC was not meant to be used with aftermarket downpipes) so I sent it back.

Then I went the JB4 route and is not glitchy at all. Terry made a couple of tweaks to my JB4 and during the summer here in Miami (93 degree weather/ 90+% humidity) was able to run a 10.7 1/4 mile on pump 93 (I have a convertible). Will be doing some runs in the next couple of weeks now that is a bit cooler with E20/30 blend and see if it runs stronger. JB4 is a more robust product with much better tech support on our platform than RC in my opinion having used both.
Would like to see RC numbers in the sub 3 sec 0-60 and low 10s in the 1/4 mile on other than RC test cars.

My .02 cents

Is your car running 2.6 sec 0-60 and 10.6 1/4 mile?

I assume you have an m8 and not an m850? I would love low 10's and from what eurocharged was saying, there tune will get 10.4's for and m850 and high 9's for an m8...have you heard anything about this?

My guess is you're talking 60-130 times. That would be possible. 11.6 to a 10.6 isn't going to happen with a maybe 60hp increase. That's more like 150 plus hp to do that.

Carbahn claims it takes the M850i from 523hp to 698, which is a 175hp gain. So if true, tunes like that could have performance increases like that.

Yes, mine is a 2022 M8 Comp Convertible. Eurocharged does not have anything avail for 2022's on their website only for 2019-2020 and I find hard to believe that at 700 hp you will be remotely close to the numbers you are mentioning. Their stage 2 power gains are not listed on their site, perhaps calling them will get us some answers. DME in Texas provides a tune but you have to send them your ecu and they will ship it to Germany to get it unlocked, I was told by them that the process takes around 3-4 weeks.

That looks like a RC module (higher price) with similar dyno results (+/-10HP) to the ones I posted in the summer when I first got the RC. Their calculation is showing an 18 % drivetrain loss

Yep, I probably talked to the same guy...told me the same. I did go to Eurocharged Chicago (which is local) and he told me within the next 60 days they will have the 2021 and up ECU's unlocked.

Yes! And that's why I'm researching these type of tunes to get at least to M8comp times. Too many Tesla's around here 😅

You must have aftermarket pipes. If you're stock, the RC should be fine. If not, you'll need a jb4.

There is a guy in here that had the same problem.
