Does my car look lowered to anyone?

I swear it seems to sit lower than pics I look at online, I bought it used with 2400 miles on it so I am not sure what the previous owner has done to it.

I think it’s lowered. The gap from tire to wheel opening is less than mine, which is stock. Are M8’s lower than M850i’s?

I am not sure but mine looks lower than the ones I see on the internet, at least the tire gap to fender is smaller.

Definitely seems lowered from this pic. Are those the original tires? Beefier tires can definitely can give that appearance without lowering it but this does seem lowered.

Hmm, I'll have to check what tires are on it, I don't remember but I think they are Michelin Pilot Sport 4s.

This has me wondering what else could be done to the car if it has been lowered. I was watching my boost gauge the other day and it seems to be hitting close to 25 pounds at WOT, is that normal?

Thanks everyone!

If those are stock wheels then yes, it's quite definitely lowered.

they are stock wheels and I'm pretty sure it's the stock tires also so this confirms my suspicion about it being lowered. Do you happen to know what the stock boost level is? I'm wondering if it's tuned as well.

Around 22psi is my recollection from JB4 logging days. 25 sounds higher than stock to me but I cant verify that anymore. Seems likely, though, that's it's tuned.

Interesting thanks, it is definitely making more than 22, it is around 25 or 26 so it might be tuned. Anyway to tell other than having BMW look at it?

Did you get it from a dealership or the owner?

I bought it from a dealership.
Ask them if it still has warranty.

ECU tunes would be harder to detect without knowing what or going to BMW. If it's a piggy, you'll be able to find it with the app or by looking under the hood.

Yeah I'm going to go poking around under the hood and see if I see anything this weekend. If it has a flash tune I guess I have no choice but to go to BMW and ask them to read the ECU and see huh?

The dealership I bought it from is 7 hours away so they probably have no clue.

For piggies, usually one of two spots: driver's windshield corner under a plastic hood or passenger's side headlight corner under a tighter and slightly harder to remove plastic cover.

Thanks! I'll check around and see tomorrow what I can find. With it being lowered I can't imagine them doing nothing else, especially with the boost hitting 25+ pounds.

It definitely appears that way, now to see if there was anything else done to it.

Yes definitely, that's what I'm most worried about and why I didn't want to go ask BMW about it fearing they would flag my car.

Arent the competitions a hair lower than the standard M8?

Cant you jack up the back of the car and take a quick peek at thw springs?

Usually aftermarket springs are different colors and have their respective logo on them. I would avoid dealer as to prevent the flagging you mentioned.

I guess I could but I figured someone here would know just from looking at it, it definitely looked lowered to me once I got it out in daylight and really looked at it. I haven't found any other mods so far though, all of the exhaust looks stock and the intakes are stock. Tune of course won't be visible.
