When will newly assigned VIN become valid?

Once you get into 150 status/production begins and your VIN is assigned, how long does it take for the actual VIN to become valid in BMW’s system (download owners manual, add car to connected drive, etc)? How long before it becomes valid for insurance quote purposes? Thanks in advance

Not sure, but…if you want to download an owner's manual now, go to cars.com and search for a 2022 M3 or M4 and use that vin.

You don't need a vin for an insurance quote. Just tell them your car details.

Oh, and connected drive only can be accessed once you take delivery. It's not your car yet.

For me it was the same day I moved into 151 status. Which was 11 days after hitting 150 status and initially getting a VIN.
