Ever gotten out of a speeding ticket?

Hey, i was wondering if any of you guys had any stories of getting pulled over and gotten away from a ticket. Maybe we can create a journal of successful excuses to use if we ever need to.

I was once pulled over for speeding and going straight in a lane that is for left turn only. I acted dumb and innocent and said i didnt know the rules and didnt see any signs and im sorry, and i respect cops and admire their work and this wont ever happen again. I also (accidentally) admitted to always going straight in that lane and that everybody else always does it. Cop just gave me a warning and said next time not to confess to always commiting that infraction. Was a pretty nice guy.

you guys might have already heard this one but a guy just bought a CLK, on the highway this dude opens the car up and gets tagged by a Trooper. The dude in the CLK thinks, hmmm I can outrun this cop. So he starts to, but realizes that he is making a big mistake and pulles over. Cop walks up to the window and asks, what the hell were you driving so fast for.... CLK driver's response was: "My wife ran off with a cop last month, and I thought you were trying to bring her back". The Trooper gets such a good laugh out of it, he let him go.

ask for a trial and tell the judge .......... "while I was lighting my crack pipe the burning rock of crack landed in your lap causing you to floor the car there was no intent so speed and there was no way you had control"

I got pulled over 2x and got out of both. The first time i had just gotten my license and was going 55mph in a 35mph, i was SO nervous so i started to cry and the cop let me go. And the 2nd time i went through double yellow lines, got pulled over and i acted like i had NO idea and didnt realize they were double haha..

Girls have a ridiculous 100x advantage in getting out of tickets over guys.

Oh well.

Been pulled over for speeding numerous times, but have never gotten a ticket. However, I did get a 'passing on the left' ticket a few months ago. Try to figure that one out.

Going to Renaissance Fair, pulled over in hills. Buddy in passenger seat was wearing a monk's outfit. When the officer came to his side of the car, buddy pulled up the hood and whispers "This is not the one you want" and the officer told me to go slower on the curves and walked away. NO LIE!!! I was about ready to punch my buddy, but when the officer left, . . . Course this was 1980 something.

Yea, not to brag it was dumb to be driving like an jerk.

One time in the Z06 I went past a tropper on the GSP 65mph limit doing a 155mph and my V1 went nuts. LOL he never left the side of the road.

reminds me of the time I was behind these bikers who flew by me doing like 120+ I saw them fly right by a trap and the cop pulls out and guns it for like a second, then just stop and pulls over... cuz by the time he pulled out the bikes were wayyy gone Guess he was just radioing ahead or thought he didn't have a chance in hell.

You know, I would never have the "guts" shall we say to try this one, but I was with my buddy once and he got pulled over for speeding on the interstate. I think he was doing like 85 in a 65. Anyways, the cop asked him about why he was speeding etc, and somehow my buddy managed to start a converation with this guy. He's like, "you know, I'm going to school to be a cop...I'm in law enforcement and criminal justice". The best part was he never took a class like that in his life and never had any intention to! Ha ha ha!!! Then the cop tells him what a good choice he's made and he pulls out pictures of his wife and kids! I'm not joking--I was there!!!!

Now if that was me making up that story, he'd catch me in a lie because he'd probably ask me what school I was going to, what classes I'm taking, etc...and I wouldn't know how to answer. I guess my buddy was just lucky because the cop didn't ask him anything like that. He got a verbal "slow down" recommendation (I can't even call it a warning!), but that was it. He got out of it.

I got one of those when I was pulled over for doing 100+ in a 65 by a Kansas Highway Patrolman while driving a ZHP E46. I'm sure part of it was because I was in my BMW uniform driving a BMW.

I about shit a brick though when I went by the cop car. The image of me getting fired went through my head since I was driving a car off the showroom floor without any plates (Dealer tag had slid out of the back window and into the backseat when I took a turn too fast).

My advice to anyone going to fight a ticket is to get an attorney that used to be a cop. I was pulled over one night after a Christmas party in '03 and received several tickets.

I went to Court once, & it was adjourned.
Never heard anything about them since.....

So I learned something from some WA natives on my first day at work that I wish I'd known last week. Do not speed at all in Oregon. They will get you.

On my drive up to Seattle, somewhere in Oregon on the relatively empty I-5 I was pulled over doing 85mph in a 65mph zone. The ticket says the base fine is $421.

This blew my mind. To me this fine is outrageous. Oh well, hopefully I'll be able to take traffic school and put this behind me. I'm never goin' back to Oregon for this and some other reasons though.

A lesson to all others, cruise 5mph over the limit in Oregon and nothing more.

$420!?! That is insane! That's gotta be the most expensive ticket I've ever heard of.
