Headlights and Tailights Staying Lit

The lights on my X7 are staying lit long after the car has been turned off. A little background: this morning, I sat at Starbucks for 1 hour and watched as my lights stayed on for 45 minutes. My lights are set to "Auto" and my car was fully locked. The other day, it appears that my lights stayed on for at least 3 hours, from arriving home (parked in garage/unlocked) until we realized they were on.

Does anyone have any insight into what is going on with my lights? Or has anyone seen this happen with their x7 before? It's a 2022 that I picked up two weeks ago. I followed up with the dealership's "genius" who has never seen this before and is willing to bring the car in to look at. I would like to avoid, though, because I have two little kids and am 45 minutes away from the dealer.

We've had this issue, too, in our 2021 but when unlocked. I basically have resorted to having to lock the car in our garage in order to make sure the lights turn off.

I almost feel that the engine start/stop maybe has something to do with this? Like I take my foot off the pedal before I press the start/stop button so the car is already technically off.....and maybe I still actually have the car on?

Haven't noticed it on my X7 but has happened on my wife's X3. We resorted to just locking the cars up in the garage.

Interesting... I'll have to pay some attention to when I take my car off the break and turn the car off.

I noticed and posted something similar. When using the Auto-Hold feature if I apply the brakes, come to a full stop, lift my foot off the brake, the vehicle doesn't move as designed. Turn off and my brake lights remain fully illuminated as if my foot is still on the brake.
