I purchased a BM3 license for a 2019 M2 comp that was manufactured in 07/2018. I was under the impression that my car could be software unlocked, unfortunately I found out that's not the case and a bench unlock is needed. I wanted to share for awareness. I now have a license I can't transfer and can't use. Uhhh. Protuningfreaks told me I'm SOL.

AFAIK the only way that could happen is if someone updated the DME later on in the car's life. That's a bummer.

It is a bummer. Great news. Protuningfreaks said they will let me transfer the license again. So that's good news. At least I can recoup the money.

Just take it some place to bench unlock.
