Just got an email from my dealer. My 2nd week of September build date just got moved to the end of October with no explanation. Xdrive comp
Very disappointed. Deposit was placed for first spot. Dealer said this is happening to a few people.
Anyone else getting bumped?

I ordered in May was supposed to start the first week of September. My date hasn’t been rescheduled. Apparently over 100 orders are being changed.

did you have a production number? hell...if it was scheduled for 2nd week of September, you should have maybe even gotten a VIN. regardless, it sucks. getting one of these cars has as tedious and tiresome as having a child. and, in some cases, as long of a wait. a lot of us are going/have gone through it. hang in there!!!

My current allocation was initially week 35 then got bumped to week 39.

you wont get dropped. and you will eventually get it. the worst part is that there's really no rhyme or reason as to why some cars go through production without a hitch and others are getting moved back several weeks. we've tried to do some rudimentary research to see if certain options are the culprit but found nothing concrete. every manufacturer is going through it. and it seems to be getting worse....

This was my local dealer's showroom back in July…

I think it's going to get worse. Orders getting pushed, lack of inventory, microchip, lack of work force..

I've been following the threads on this as well and seems like there is no particular culprit to getting bumped. I was speaker with the manager of the dealership where I ordered and he said the only people that have been bumped at his dealership were:

1. Individual color (frozen pint in this case), or

2. Made some change to the build (he quoted an X5 that got bumped 2 months for adding a trailer hitch and an m3 several weeks for changing the carbon fiber exterior.

Not sure, but just what I've heard.

I did not make any changes to the build, and got bumped from october production to november production due to Laser lights option. Chip shortage.

Had a September build date, week 37. Got bumped to an unknown week. Looking at October or probably November build slot.

Ordered in mid June. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Don’t go by your week anymore lol... there are people in week 37,38,39 and 40 that all flipped to 150 in the last two days.... so when it’s your lucky turn you’ll go too

preordered in january (xdrive) ordered the first day when they opened the official sales in Italy (4th june), initially due to be produced at the end of july, then moved to the end of august, now i'm on a week 40 build, but other build40 week orders have received their VIN, me not as of today. I hope this doesn't means that mine has been posticipated again.
