Those are cornering lights in the E92, they come on when you turn your steering wheel towards that angle. It's the H3 bulb in front and on top of the H8 angel eye bulb.

Bingo, they are cornering lights and can function as DRLs. I believe you can also use them to flash to pass.

Actually, the inner projectors are the cornering lights, which only turn on during night time when you turn your steering wheel a certain degree (I believe 15 degrees) to the left or right, or if you're in reverse. In my own experience, the cornering lights do not light up during the day, even if you're Xenons are on the "On" position. As for high beams, your E92 comes comes bi-xenon, the HIDs do the flash-to-pass function, not the cornering lights..they're for cornering.

Many guys on here don't like how yellow it looks, especially when it's contrasting their aftermarket angel eye bulbs, so they get an aftermarket H3 bulb, like the GP Thunder 7500k.

Hmm I always thought that the lighting system is similar to my E46, where the halogen inner lights, are used for flashing and also as support for high beam. Although the E46 does have bi-xenon already, due to auto leveling function...the inner halogen lights still turn-on. Don't know if the flashing with the HID is a bad thing or not though...heard conflicting responses.
