Tyre Pressures

My back left tyre went from 3.20 bar to 2.40 bar again after new tyres, and with no evident sign of a puncture having said that BMW Battersea said I had two nails in my tyres before, even though I didn't check myself.

is this just air loss or should I get the alloy looked at ? gonna go take it to my mates garage to see if he can spot the puncture, after that Im all out of ideas.

You'll have to get the tyre looked at in the first instance, as you may have picked up another puncture (which would be horrible luck). The way to check is to get a solution of fairy liquid and water, and squirt it on to the tyre tread (do it in sections). If the solution starts bubbling away, that shows that air is leaking out in that particular spot. If there is no air leaking on the tread surface, then try the same thing but this time around the edges of the outside and inside rim. Easiest way obviously is to take the wheel off the car.

Good luck!

Tyre Pressure loss

Hey guys,

Ditto same issue, I loose air on all of my wheels and it goes down a bit if I havent driven the car for a while i loose air all around.

I have the same 5 spoke (porsche looking rims, that came oem with the car) , but with these tyres :
Rears are: 265/30ZR19 Conti Sport contact 3XL (filled to 41psi)
Fronts are: 235/35ZR19 Conti Sport contact 3XL (filled to 36psi)

First of all are these air pressure measurements correct ?, i tend to loose about 2-3+ psi per wheel every week or more

That sounds an awful lot. Perhaps a stupid question, but are you sure you're losing pressure on all tyres? Pressure can vary that much if the temperature's different between measurements - say from coming back from a run (tyres warm) to stone cold early morning (v.cold).

Having had my tyre pressure warning light come on recently, I'd happily pay extra next time for a real TPMS that could display tyre pressures in real time to save having to find somewhere to stop, get out and get wet and filthy checking tyre pressures manually.

Used to loose pressure on the front run flats on the previous car monthly. Check my new car on a monthly basis. So far so good but due another check asap.
