It seems pics of the cargo area of the new LCI X3 don't show an elevated floor for the spare. Did they improve the packaging here or is this just wishful thinking on my part? TIA

Depends on whether or not it's equipped with the space saver spare tire. I think people get a bit confused by the name of this option but here's the scoop:

If you don't spec the space saver spare tire, you don't get a spare tire at all and the cargo floor is flat.

If you do spec the space saver spare tire, you get the spare but the cargo floor is raised.

I didn't get the space saver spare bc I didn't want the raised floor. Is anyone aware of an aftermarket I can purchase that fits below the flat floor? Links appreciated if so

The pics on configurator never showed the raised floor. There is another thread here where someone with a 2022 confirmed they have a raised floor.

Here's a picture from our 2022 x3 M40i with spare tire. It is raised, but don't find it an issue. Wethertech makes a special matt for it, which is bit short so it doesn't overhang (shown in picture).

Thank you Rich C - answers my question perfectly. So LCI didn't change the design. If your willing to do some cutting of materials around the wheel well opening a space saver can be fit with a flat floor - do a search to find the well-detailed posting.

Thanks for the information on the WeatherTech mat. We have the spare in our 2019 and wasn't aware that WT made a mat that will fit. The raised floor isn't an issue for me either. After a couple of years I've gotten used to it.

The SK is for the snap on rollout bumper protector, just remove the SK if you don't want it.

Nice. Thanks for the info. The WeatherTech company store isn't too far from me and it's a fun place to visit as they have most of their items on display as well as a vehicle or two with WT items installed on the floor. I might have to make a trip there.

I did do the BMW floor matts since I like the "X3" logo.

This is a very personal choice. To me it looks very ugly (but, I recognize it is the trunk, so not very important) and I rather have the extra head space.

Don't laugh, but sometimes my toddler wants to use the potty and I take her to the trunk 😁.

To confirm 2022 with spare definitely have the raised floor. I got the mobility kit to delete it.
