M5 Exhaust Question

Hi guys,

Sorry i am sure this has been answered but i couldn't find it.

What is the difference between M5 COMP exhaust and the M5 Performance exhaust. They are not the same are they?

Also does anyone have an exact list on what comes in a 2019 Comp vs non comp? verified mine is non comp although it has the M performance exhaust, black grill, full merino etc etc just curious

All comp car have M sport exhaust. M performance exhaust is entirely separate & cost around 7k. Sounds bad ass! Also comp car have grills, & side gills in black. Different suspension.

I'm more surprised he couldn't find anything on the exhausts. This goes back to F8x base vs comp vs m-exhaust lol.

Performance is louder and deeper. You can't silence the performance exhaust. Also The muffler portion of performance is titanium.

Any BMW parts with the world M Performance" are oem "aftermarket" parts that can be added to a build by the port or dealer. They won't come from factory. Be happy you have Base M5. That comp suspension is a really harsh. And only real advantage to Comp is ability for 789m wheels IMO.

17hp and 4 blacked out options and a rough suspension were not worth the price and Name to me. Plus I don't like the all black lower rear bumper section.

I wouldn't say the comp suspension is a back breaker.
Sure it will not ride like a 540xi, but its just a little choppy on rough roads.
Totally livable daily. remember it is a 600hp car. If you have back probs, it may not be for you, obviously this is all very subjective and personal

M5 comp not that stiff

People just say “it is a back breaker” to justify their base model purchase

My brother has a 2020 M5C and it rides hard but not unlivable. I have a 2021 M5C LCI…it rides smoother for sure. Firm but not harsh.

Exactly this. This always happens with "base purchasers." As if BMW would spend almost $8k to make a car worse

After the M2C, the M5C rides like a Bentley in the clouds.

So glad to hear y'all opinions. Changed my base to comp. Waiting on a 22 comp delivery. Sold 2020 few months ago that was base.

Right - "we base guys" could not spend 8 K more to buy the comp lol. As if.

Get real bud. - And was not available in 18' anyway.
And meanwhile I have every option ticked off the list.

Well said

In return, people that got M5C couldn't fund an M5CS if we follow their logic

Well, the CS is 60k Euro more than the M5C

I could fund it, but it's crazy

But the M5C suspension is not stiff enough in my opinion

But "we" comp guys don't claim that the M5C is better than the M5CS when it comes to performance. There's a difference between accepting facts and making yourself feel better

Love the elitist mentality. Such a Typical BMW owner mindset thinking you're better than someone who owns the same car with a different letter identifier. LMAO

You can take this to any extent. I see the same thing happening with M5 owners talking about M550is.

Not all of you, obviously.

Don't worry, I do not have the need to "making myself feel better".
I absolutely love my car as it is and I don't have the desire to acquire an M5C and even less an M5CS.
