People with Dragys: What kind of times are you knocking out on street tires?

Picked up a Dragy over the weekend...a fathers day gift to myself. I'm running 265/50/18Firehawk 500's in the rear which are a decent tire, but not as sticky as something like an R rated or drag-radial. The car is 6AT FBO running a Stage 2+ E40 tune with stock turbos.

Even launching in 2nd gear, and pedaling it trying to keep it from spinning as soon as the boost comes on, my 60ft times are horrible.....the best I was able to knock out was a 12.60 @ 117. With that trap speed and a decent 60ft, I should be in the mid/high 11's. The HP/TQ is there...but the traction isn't.

Is there any way to get these cars to hook up on street tires? I'm running solid subframe bushings, and M3 rear arms. I don't get any wheel hop...just spin.

edit: this was on a "closed coarse" section of payment

An LSD would help.

Nice! I have a xi auto (xhp) fbo MHD stage2 +.
I've always been curious what I would run in the 1/4 mile.

Honestly....I don't think it would. My car lays two big black marks on the pavement. The e-diff does a pretty good not of putting power to both tires. For a twisty road? Yes....an LSD would make a big improvement, but I can't justify $2k+ fo an LSD when the e-diff does really well on straight line acceleration.

Get xHP my friend, under the customized module limit your second gear torque limit to 400nm as a starting base…….you can adjust up or down 50nm to get the correct traction you want

This run is when I was running stock turbos with an E40 tune and second gear torque limit set at 450nm.

I've got xHP...running stage 3. Haven't messed with any of the settings yet. Is it better to limit torque by gear using XHP...or boost by gear using MHD?

Use the settings threw xHP, boost by gear threw MHD does not work well.

My first attempt was a 13.0 @ 111. I was so disappointed. It only took a new clutch, turbos and a WOT Box to shave those 1.4 seconds off

What tune are you running now? I am hoping I would be at least low to mid 12s due to the auto xhp.

It's a homebrew e50 tune based off a free RFP map. And I am no tuner, so I'm sure it could be better. What is clear is that you need to get a dragy and put your expectations to the test!

Heck yeah! That's a killer 0-60. I love my 6MT, but I don't think I'll ever see a 3.35s in it. 3.61s is the best I've managed.

I think the record is high 10's on stock turbos with a gutted car with a bunch of weight removed and slicks on the back.

Ya your time is great for a MT. Being able to brake boost with an auto is the biggest difference.
Cheers.

I think it's all in the tires.......these motor make so much torque, even 2nd gear launches end up spinning like crazy as soon as the boost comes in. And with the IRS setup...they don't really squat when they launch and transfer weight to the rear tires like a solid axle car. But.... they weren't designed to be drag cars.....

I can't believe I still haven't done a dragy run with my 335is. I probably should with the stock turbos before removing them.

lol I can't gut mine as I use it as daily, I'm assuming 11's possible with no weight reduction on stock turbos, guess I'll have to see.

From what I've seen....most stock turbo FBO cara should be running high 11's on an ethanol tune.....if you can get your tires to hook up.

That's good enough, the problem is Ethanol is a pain to get here, there's almost no pumps about and have to order it online, to much hassle. Will have to stick to 93 oct for the time being.
