I've done remote software upgrade today 03/2021.50 and what I've noticed that this service isn't working anymore. I don't get speed camera warnings no more on HUD nor instrument cluster. I've tried to tick/untick the box inside the safety camera information app but no luck. Has anyone facing the same? I cannot remember how it was before the software upgrade but I'm quite sure I had the Safety Camera Information setting under Settings -> Displays, but it's not there anymore

Fixed. I've tried updating apps and services but was getting an error. I've restarted idrive system by holding power/volume button for 45s and after the restart I was able to update the apps/services and speed camera information started to work again.

I didn't think 3/21 would be available via remote until 7/21.

Anyway, did the release notes mention if this addresses the camera recall?

This update was available for me 3-4days ago. The safety camera information isn't mentioned in release noted. Not sure if it was a glitch, but it didn't let me to update apps/services but after idrive reboot the apps update was successful and speed camera's started to appear in the hud

Wow. I didn't realise there was a speed camera warning option and thought I had everything checked.

It's an annual subscription. In the UK its only £20/year. Once you subscribe your can find this app under your installed apps on idrive

I am in the US and received the 3/21 update several weeks ago but to date have seen no release notes on it.

I ordered it yesterday. I am seeing the app in the Apps menu, but so there are no associated options in the Displays menu to choose where to show the warnings. Perhaps it take a little time. I will test it later today when I head into a camera heavy area

Interesting, no update since I got 11/20 in 3/21 here for either car here. I thought the roll-outs were regional at best (didn't realize OP was in the UK, but I'm less than 30 miles from you), but I suppose they're likely model specific along with blocks of build dates or something along those lines.

You received the update remote and not at the dealer, correct? Are you using the BMW Connected or the MyBMW app?

It was a remote install version using only the I-drive system in the car and manually checking for update.

I got this working - sort of. Cannot get the alerts to show in the HUD, even though all the menus say that is where Route Announcements should be showing. The speed camera alerts only show in instrument cluster.

Make sure HUD is selected under
Car -> Settings -> Displays
1) Head up display -> Route warnings -> HUD is selected and Display infotainment list in -> HUD
2) Instrument cluster -> Route warnings -> HUD and Display infotainment list in -> HUD

I've noticed if you disable or turn off the hud at anytime. All the settings get lost. And you have manually renewable all the settings every time you turn the HUD back on.

Justao thanks! I had done everything except the Display Infotainment List part. These were set to Instrument Cluster.
Strange that it was this setting that forced the camera alerts into the HUD and not the Route Warnings. Route Warnings alone set to HUD still left the camera alerts in the instrument cluster.

My god man why in the world would you turn off the HUD? The irony is when I was optioning up my wife's 2017 X5 and explained the HUD to her she said she didn't want that whatsoever. So I had to verify prior to placing the custom order that in iDrive 6 you can enable/disable per drivers profile (which you can just like iDrive 7). It took about 6 months before my wife asked if I could enable that "windshield thingy" for her profile after she saw some pictures I took during one of our road trips with the navigation information within the HUD.
