2022 M850i GC Changes
Besides a much lower sticker price, are there actually any changes to the 22's in the way of features, etc? I noticed in a friend's 2022 540 that the center screen is much larger than before (as well as much larger than than the screen in my 2020 M850i GC) and am wondering if this migrated to the 2022 8 series.
Also, has BMW announced any loyalty or lease rebates on 2022's yet?

Sticker price is substantially lower, but what are these cars really going out the door for? Supply chains remain severely constrained, dealers can't get enough cars to sell, and therefore try to maximize profit on each unit. Suspect that the deals out there are not much better than the heavily discounted 2020 M8s that many of us are driving. Anyone with real life experience to share?

For the US NA models all standard features are intact for the 2022s. As mentioned prior in other threads I have built a 2022 M850i to my 2020 M850i specs and the only difference is the $13K reduction in MSRP.

US and Canadian specs are indeed different but having just gone through this, in Canada, the 2022 base price for an M850i dropped by $4,600 vs 2020/2021.
However, with that reduction, Adaptive M suspension with rear steering was dropped from the standard list. The maintenance dropped from 4yr/80k km to 3yr/60k km, and the interest rates increased. Also, as dwayne said, Laserlight headlights are no longer standard but are part of the main basic package called Premium which is $5,450 vs the 2020 main Executive Package which was $4,000. So although the 2022 cars seem to have been decontented and price reduced to be more competitive on paper, the true equivalent price did not really go down at all. |
