Possible to remove dent on door frame?

I loaded my fishing kayak on my new X5 this past weekend and threw the padded buckles over the kayak to the driver's side of the car. I couldn't believe it, but it put a dent in the vertical panel on the driver door. I didn't this 20 times with the Jeep GC I had before this and never a problem. I had the dealer look at it today when they were fixing another issue, and they said it would be over $800! Does anyone know if there's a cheaper way to fix it??

The shadowline B-pillar finisher window frame with weather seal part itself shouldn't be expensive $100-120 and most is labor to remove the driver's interior door panel to access and install the replacement part (see index 8 and index in 2nd photo) which extends into the door.

I totally agree .. it's only part no 5 which needs to be bought and replaced .. a trim replacement job per say

Where's the best place to find instructions on how to replace it? I'm somewhat handy but don't want to be wrecking something else trying to replace it.

NewtisTIS used to be available publicly but BMW shut the site down and you can access it on a subscription basis:

Thought I'd mention, I had that exact same piece replaced on my x5. Dealer ordered the part and put it on, probably charged me $150 ish all in.
