Error codes P2270 and P114B
Was driving around town yesterday and my service engine soon light came on. Codes are P2270 and P114B
Look like lean O2 sensor codes. Wasn't doing anything extreme, just driving in town, but on the hottest day of the year so far. About 30C, of mid 80's F, so top down and AC on. Are these critical, or should I just clear and see if they return? This is well after I did the 3 stage and 330 tune on my 328. |

Bentley Definitions for those Fault Codes:
P2270 | 2C6B | 02 Sensor Signal Stuck Lean (Bank 1 Sensor 2) P114B | 2C7E | Post Catalyst Fuel Trim Too Lean Bank 1 So BOTH relate to signal from Bank 1 POST-Cat Sensor, the first saying the Signal is CONSTANTLY (Stuck) Lean, and the 2nd saying that signal is indicating "Lean". So you have CONSTANT (as opposed to intermittent) signal fault from Post-Cat Bank 1 Sensor. Could be wiring/connector fault or fault in the Sensor itself. ALWAYS delete codes and see if they return (AFTER recording any available Freeze Frame Data or Details), but I would expect BOTH to return. ALWAYS check wiring & Connector BEFORE throwing parts. Here is the BMW Fault Code Lookup Fault Info Sheet with Service Notes: https://bmwfault.codes/XMLDiagView?d...IAOQA2ADAANAA= George |

Build date is 3-29-2007. I'll fire up the laptop and see what it shows. Hoping it's something loose up top from doing the VC and Manifold, but need to lift and look underneath anyway. May be back with more questions. VIN ends with PX11182 |

1) Location of Post-Cat O2 Sensors, B62102 Bank 1, and B62202 Bank 2; 2) Location of Connectors X62102 & X62202 for the two Post-Cat Sensors; 3) Connector View of the Post-Cat Sensor Connector, with pin identification. Also attached to next post is INPA ScreenPrint of a Screen you can use to view Live Data of Signal from the relevant O2 Sensor: "after catalyst bank 1" -- bottom-left bar graph in screen. The Menu Path to that Screen is: INPA > DME (MSV80) > F5 Status > F6 Lambda Probes. I would suggest reading the Live Data of Bank 1 Post-cat Sensor, IF you can do that without engine heat and heat-soak preventing your doing the visual inspection of the Sensor wiring and Connector, along with electrical testing of that wiring. The Signal wire from the Sensor is the Yellow wire at Pin #4 of the Connector. We hope to learn something from your experience. George |

ISTA & INPA ScreenPrints related to Prior Post
Attached are ISTA ScreenPrints (for your 3/2007 build 328i) showing:
1) Location of Post-Cat O2 Sensors, B62102 Bank 1, and B62202 Bank 2; 2) Location of Connectors X62102 & X62202 for the two Post-Cat Sensors; 3) Connector View of the Post-Cat Sensor Connector, with pin identification. Also attached is INPA ScreenPrint: INPA > DME (MSV80) > F5 Status > F6 Lambda Probes George |
