How to turn on the Aux input?

I just picked up my MY08 Z4 and was wondering how the *&@&!! you select Aux input on the radio. I have my cable plugged in and the other end to my ipod. Pressing the mode button switches between the cd and the radio, no "aux". Am I missing something? My car is equiped with 10 speaker system, no nav, no dsp, no cd changer. Please help.

Pressing MODE should do it - regardless of whether your iPod's even plugged in or not.
I'd call your dealership, as RADIO, CD, and AUX should cycle through.

Thanks, left the car at the dealership. This will be the 3rd visit to the dealership. At first they said it was software, a receiver issue and finally a radio. The car has 15 miles on the odometer!!!! And still no answers. I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

I just got off of the phone with the service manager and was told that when they replaced the head unit they forgot to reconnect all of the cables. Should I elevate this or should I just accept that human being make mistakes. Opinions please.

Eh, double edge sword... you raise a lot of hell, and sure you could get some type of compensation - but you're also going to put yourself in bad standing with the staff there.
I'd just express that your time is valuable, and it's frustrating having to come back to the dealer 3 times for the same issue. At the same time, you appreciate the SM finding a solution and hope you don't have to return.

FYI, it seems that the wording of "I'm losing/I've lost faith in BMW" is a buzz phrase in terms of getting results.

Thanks for the tip. The SM called me and offered the BMW ipod interface at no charge, a complete re-detail of the car also at no charge.

Good to hear it's resolved - not a bad deal for the inconvenience.
