Race Chip FTW!!!

Took 15 min to install on my new bone stock 2021 M5 Base. Then another 15 minutes later I tested it out with a single Dragy pass. Results speak for themselves. Cooler weather and a few more tries should net a bit more improvement. E20 fuel on Map 7.

Do u have Dragy passes before the install to compare? Nonetheless, pretty good times.

Is that the Race chip stage 1, 2, or 3? And doesn’t that void the warranty if it is not dinan tune?

If BMW detects the tune (which they can if they dig deep enough) you can be certain they'll do everything they can to refuse warranty on the drivetrain. This is actually the case with Dinan as well. The difference is that Dinan sells a tune that carries a warranty through Dinan that runs in parallel to your factory warranty so when a BMW denies it, Dinan will pick it up. At least that's how it's supposed to go.

You're correct.
Dinan and Carbahn are the only 2 companies that offer their own warranty backed programs that I'm aware of

This is a great tune option. Ive seen this car run a few times recently and it's very consistent even in very hot temps.

What're the differences between Racechip and JB4? I'm still trying to hold out on a flash tune, but it seems this is a good option.

There is a ton out there comparing the two. I have Racechip now (works great) and looking at JB4. The short answer, JB4 is more flexible, connects to more components in your car for better control, and provides a lot of data. If you want a 2 connection plug and play, Racechip will deliver.

How's this holding up for you? Any "Valid" runs without such steep inclines and without E20?

I have mine in a box, but not ready to install yet until I enjoy the car a little longer stock.

looks like someone question that too 5 months ago. Would make sense to post before and after or at least he numbers themselves. Regardless good times for a piggy back controller.

Agreed - to me the biggest proponent for the Racechip is the fact that you don't need to route it to the OBD2 port. It's very easy to install/uninstall during dealer visits and they back it up with an engine warranty.

I've had both in the past.

I see you are in US; there warranty is only valid for these countries:

“You can benefit from this engine warranty for your vehicle up to a mileage of 48,000 miles and a vehicle age of up to 5 years. To take advantage of this, your privately-used car must be registered in one of the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden or Switzerland.”

No love for US customers even though coverage amount is in USD, lol.

I got the verbiage from this site: https://www.racechip.us/service-supp...formation.html. The .us domain would imply this is their US website.
