Roll Race settings help

DCS Off/4wdSport Keep getting my ass handed to me because its a new platform and I cannot figure out how to roll race properly. From a 40 roll in 3rd M, how can I shift back to "D" without it upshifting or having to push the shift lever twice? Thanks.

no problem. I did run a tuned MT zl1 the other day in my dads bone stock non CP m5..

we were neck and neck, he pulled slowly up top after 130. The ZF trans kept me in the race, because everytime he shifted i gained ground. Thats the only cae i've ran in the m5. But i quickly figured out a 40 roll doesn't put the f90 where it needs to be for a roll race. 50 is where its at..

just realized i have it on video, but plates aren't blurred

I went and tested this, from a 40 roll in 3rd the turbos take a pause to spool, if you up it to 50 (I think its 4500-5000 rpm) they spool really quickly, a quick double tap of the shift stalk and it will engage D.

would not start a roll race in 3rd... you will get handled, quickly.

2nd gear.

What I figured out to do was start in 2nd in manual w the shift lever. And then when I shifted it to 3rd I just tapped the lever to auto and let the car do the rest. When I kept trying to shift it myself it kept bumping the rev limiter due to the slow shifting.

Not sure why anyone would do this technique, but i dont think that would be good idea to shift from manual to auto while under WOT, or even the opposite.. Someone correct me if i'm wrong.

The ZF trans shifts very quick, not sure why you would say it's slow.. The flick of the paddle and trans gear change is simultaneous. You need to just get your timing right with the shifting.

Wow I never take my manual over 2,500 rpms. 50 mph in second gear would surely exceed that.

There's nothing wrong with the technique whatsoever

Why not?
One reason is fuel economy. Other reason is I believe that is the recommended point for my manual transmission so I feel like anything above that would put unnecessary stress on the drive train.

Brother, it's an M5 ... nothing wrong with driving it hard and certainly no issue in exceeding 2500 rpm, at least not that I'm aware of.
