Steering wheel scratch repair.

There's been a small 1.5" scratch in the leather of my steering wheel since I bought the car. It's on the bottom left, and on the middle and back side of the wheel, so not noticeable, but every time my hand slides over that area, I feel it and it's annoying.

What are some ways for repairing such scratches?

I'd try some fine grit sand paper and then conditioner on the leather working it in.
