Joe Achilles Reports Production Delay Due to Bucket Seats

Joe Achilles posted today on IG that "unfortunately there's a bit of a delay on my M3, something to do with the carbon seats, might end up being a May delivery, or even later..."

One of our fellow members reported his build was delayed for the same reason (can't recall which thread) and cited raw material issues as the cause.

I am in food manufacturing and moving things around the world right now by container has become a logistical nightmare and supply issues are becoming a part of life.

I have a Fire Orange 6MT G80 scheduled for Production the 3rd week of April, with bucket seats, and I am thinking that will be delayed as well.

I hear ya man, in Commercial Cargo Aviation and we are at capacity...the entire industry has been for the last year as demand has increased for lift operations from various industries. A lot of it has been due to decrease in the commercial travel on the passenger side, a lot of freight forwarders relied on these flights to book and move excess goods that they wouldn’t normally fit in a container (DHL/FEDEX/UPS do this a lot)

It’s getting better though, as recent news shows rise in passenger fares, which means more demand for travel, more aircraft available with space in their bellies, and more opportunities for these forwarders to move goods to the suppliers.

I just paid $1,100 round trip JetBlue NYC to Florida for this coming week....even Thanksgiving week "pre pandemic" wasn't close to that price.

Hopefully my build won't get delayed. Currently scheduled for the week of May 16th (week 20?) and hopefully supply is in a steady state by then.

My car just finished being built with cf buckets. Was initially delayed but I ordered in early January.
