Joyriide Detailed: Black CLS 63 AMG

Joyriide Detailed: CLS 63 AMG

I had 6 hours to finish this detail. At first I doubted even getting through the "SIP" swirl removal stage in 6 hours, so from the beginning I did my best with every aspect of the detail to do my best and finish quick. The owner was aware that perfection was not going to be reached since 6 hours to fully wash, clay, polish, finish, and seal to perfection was not possible while trying to reach perfection in paint clarity. I was put to the task of polishing a panel, and having to live with whatever stayed behind. No 2nd passes. None the less, I feel this detail gave an 80 percent improvement among defects.

Process

Wash
Claymagic Blue
SIP via orange pad @ 1200roms
106ff via grey pad @ 1500rpms
Re-wash
Zaino Z5pro

Before

During

Afters

Well, If you notice, I did have an assistant, but even with one I would have easily asked for a full day. And as some will tell you, this particular assitant I used that day (John) wasn't really assisting me all that well considering he lacks a lot of experience (my other assistant Renny, who I feel is adequate enough to follow me through an entire job, is not always available which makes it difficult for me at times).

Like I said, the biggest downfall and time saver for this job was removing the swirls. Unlike previous jobs, where if one pass did not take care of a panel to my satisfaction, I would go for another or a third until I felt happy. On this one, I simply had to live with what was left behind after one pass and move on to another. The customer knew he was cutting me short on time, but was totally fine with a moderate swirl removal.

Picked up 2 new jobs from him, so I'm satisfied that he was satisfied enough to recommend me again.
