Engine Coolant Type and Mix

I searched the instruction manual but couldn't find any details on the coolant type (BMW part# or equivalent) or suggested mix.

Does anyone know the coolant type? What about the mix? Typically it's 50/50 with distilled water, but I couldn't find anything that stated that.

Well, being the BMW noob that I am, I wasn't aware there was only one type of BMW coolant. Having gone through Audi and their menagerie of coolants (with even different Audi coolants for the same model but different year car), I assumed the same, but alas, it's not.

So, for those naïve like me, BMW is just a "one size fits all" coolant and it's a 50/50 mix with distilled water per the BMW part's counter rep.

I know this is late but for anyone wondering, it's the ht-12 coolant which is now green. They switched over most of their vehicles around 2018 to ht-12, I think. They still make and sell the older coolants for some of the older cars. Some of them are not compatible with ht-12, but I can't remember which ones.

Along this post about coolants. I have new X5 40i with less than 1000 miles. I check bot coolant tanks and both are well above the MAX level in fully cold state. Should I pull some out to correct level??

I keep losing a tiny but measurable amount of coolant. I’ve added about 12 fluid ounces so far.
