You missed the d - 335d aparently makes too much torque for the DKG from what I have heard and that is why you only can get it with an auto and the standard was never an option either.

Does any one know if it is mechanicle possible to fit the DKG gearbox to the diesel?
My 330d is with the steptronic gearbox and have been thinking of switching it with a DKG gearbox to have faster shifts.

Hi Guys
I know BMW did not deliver the d with DKG, but is it possible to fit it? Is it possible to fit THAT tranny to the M57 engine? I have been sitting looking at realoem and comparing the mounts for the normal aut. and for the DKG. And they differ. They are not the same. I have found out that the physical length of the 2 are almost the same. 1mm differs from one to the other.... And of course, it's a challenge to get the electronics to work....that might be the biggest challenge....

Agree, forget whether or not it physically will fit, trying to get the programming to work will probably be impossible.

Hmmm, It would have been a nice combination I think :-)
And yes the gear ratios are different. 2 reasons for that. The normal transmission is with 6 gears and made for the diesel and the DCT is with 7 gears. End ratio in 6'th gear is 0,69 and in the DCT in 7'th it is 1,00
