Clear ceramic tint
Anyone have familiarity with clear ceramic windshield tint?
Was it worth it? Approximately how much did it run you? I don't intend to get tint on the other windows as the privacy glass is fine by me. Just wanted to get clear ceramic for the windshield to help heat protect the car and dash. Any other tips/advice re: clear ceramic is welcome!

My understanding is we can only do tint to the AS1 line or 5" (whichever is shorter). I think if I can even do 90% that will help the heat and make the HUD clearer

[QUOTE=smomin23;27110088]I'll check and see if we're legally able to do 70%

[QUOTE=smomin23;27111059]Please excuse my lack of knowledge on this topic. How do you deal with the TX State inspection sticker on the inside of the window with tint? And/or is the tint installed on the outside?

I noticed a huge difference in heat rejection. I’ll always have this in my cars from now on. Last edited by viperdoc; 01-14-2021 at 09:55 PM.. |

I'll look into them since San Antonio is right around the corner from Austin. Thank you for the tip!

Mark motors is a great private dealership and wrap/clear bra/windows setup. They have some pretty high end cars there- hard to find bentleys, ferraris, lambos, mclarens, and higher end bmws and mercs. They do a great job

I found a pretty decent shop in Austin for my PPF + ceramic but I haven't committed to tint so might end up with Mark Motors

Llumar has air80 which is bluish tint and is actually much better when you drive with it.
For me, I put 50 percent on my cars and no problem at all when driving. it does not affect HUD at all even with 35 percent tint. If it is ceramic film, heat rejection will be much better than dyed film. Just don't get metallic one. you can look at the heat rejection rate on manufacture spec. |
