How to remove Xline trim
Here's how....
Start from the top using the tool. Gently pull towards you as you slide to the outside of the bumper. When you get to the edge stop. Repeat for the bottom area then use the tool on the outside edge to pull the entire thing out. YOU HAVE TO START WHERE THE ARROWS ARE. THE TABS ARE LOCATED THERE. GO SLOW! Amazon search link... you choose. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=Auto+Trim...ref=nb_sb_noss Last edited by h1d; 01-15-2021 at 03:53 PM.. |

I just posted a brief note on how to do this on another thread. I recently was able to remove both and vinyl wrap them. As in the other post, I recall there being 5 plastic tabs that keep the pieces on the car (2 on the top horizontal part, and 3 on the bottom one). It is on there VERY tightly, and I thought I would end up breaking the pieces before I got them off. But replacements are only $50 or so, and in the event they are broken, putting a new on would be very, very easy as you just push it on and the tabs catch.
Most of the tabs you access from beneath the horizontal sections only- the vertical side piece has no tabs. I ended up using a very thin flat head screwdriver to release the tabs. It will be a very tight squeeze to get even a screwdriver in between the trim piece and the bumper though. I would recommend pulling out from the sides of each trim piece rather than from the end closest to the middle of the car. This will make is easier. |

I just did this today. Viperdoc, your instructions are accurate, thanks. I prob broke two tabs per side, but each trim piece still fit back in pretty securely.
Has anyone removed the side vent/grill pieces? Looking to black those out as well. Thanks!! |

So I finally tried and figured it out. I'll post some pictures of how to do it and also get the side ones off too. I ended up ordering a tool and they popped right off.

Actually no I forget to mention that. The kits on Amazon have a smaller tool and that's what I ended up using. It's half the size of that one. The main thing is to go slow. |
