Spotify reappears in 2020/11 software
After not existing for me in March and julys versions, after the car was updated to S15A-20-11-542 look what's here!
Not sure I'll actually use it as CarPlay works but it's nice to see it back just in case |

It's back via a vehicle software update? Weird, I had to rollback to (Spotify) version 8.5.62.904 to make it reappear in idrive (v6)....maybe this is an idrive v7 thing?

Yeah, that's the weird bit for my iDrive 6...I've got Alexa but no Spotify (unless you downgrade to the Spotify version I posted above)...

I guess you guys are on idrive 7 because I see no references in connected store or anywhere else for Spotify. To be clear, I have Spotify (back) on my iDrive 6 but only because I downgraded the Spotify app.
Figures though, the apps/software that I would actually want to use (wireless Android Auto & Spotify) don't exist...but stuck with Alexa & ACP which I'll never touch lol

I listen to Spotify in my '20 X4 every day. I did have a problem a few months ago. It was working when I drove to 7-11, then was just spinning when I got back to the car. I couldn't get it to work for nuthin' (restarting the car, rebooting the idrive, etc).
I was not happy, so I pressed my call button ask asked about it. They forwarded me to geniuses. They walked me through some magical things to do to get the Spotify app updated. I was then supposed to lock my car and leave it alone for a few hours. When I got back -- voila! I had working Spotify again. I wonder if that was in July... |
