Yes - this has nothing to do with the cold-air intake system - as you can see in the pictures, there is an Eventuri cold air system installed.

The info states an approx. doubling of surface area which will allow more heat to be removed from the incoming charge air - that increases air density which means a lower effective DA / more power potential at a given ambient temperature. Think colder air = denser air = more oxygen into engine so more fuel injected to burn = more power.

What northtorque said above and should also reduce pressure loss. For example, if you are seeing 21psi boost on the lower intakes, the turbo is actually cranking out more, usually 24+ psi. You lose some pressure going through the Intercoolers and ducting, having a larger more efficient design will reduce these losses.

Boost isn't free. For every pound of boost you add, it requires more exhaust gasses to be forced through the turbine. This creates more exhaust back pressure, subtracting from your power gains and bringing to closer to the turbos choke point. So a better less restrictive design in much more effective then just running higher boost pressures to overcome the intercooler losses.
