N54 Noise coming from Engine Bay
In the last day or two a noise has appeared, which seems to be coming from the oil filter/alternator area. Any advice?
Cheers, Chris. |

Strange. Try removing the belt and see if the sound goes away. It might be your alternator, but it's hard to guess things over the web.

One of my friends with an e90 323 had this sound, changed the oil and filter and it went away, pretty sure it's related to the filter but not entirely sure.

Hard to diagnose noise over the web but as mentioned its possibly the oil filter restricting flow. If you do an oil and filter change using a good quality filter the noise should stop
