How do you monitor your cars
I know most of u guys are using mhd or bm3 to log your cars but is there any other software to monitor onboard our cars. I am not using either of this softwares and i want to monitor boost, timing, afr, knocks and other stuff onboard. Please share info.

You can also use "generic" OBD2 apps. I use torque pro for my 3000gt, for example, and it should be compatible provided you have the correct OBD2 device/cables, etc.
Note however that some PIDs (i.e., parameters you want to measure) may be custom within BM3/MHD so you may not be able to directly monitor things like knock, timing corrections, etc. |

The Bimmerlink app is a great option! Very simple interface and lots of sensors you can monitor. I use the Veepeak OBDCheck BLE+ dongle.

FYI, you can buy the MHD monitoring module separate from other modules. IIRC its $99. You of course will not have flashing or OTS maps, but you can monitoring in real time, datalog, etc. Just an option if you want a more common/tried and true datalogging platform. Using this also ensures you get all the custom PIDs available in MHD, such as timing corrections. |

I use obd fusion with a veepeak obd plug in if I just want to see my temps and such. I use bootmod3 for actual logs. Only reason I don't use bootmod3 all the time is I don't feel like keeping my phone plugged in(actually I'm just broke and don't have the WiFi agent)

Did you look under lambda? And not just "AFR"?

Are you looking specifically for monitoring or logging ? You can run MHD or Bimmerlink to monitor and log. Bimmercode is to change things like the seat belt warnings and such, it won't log anything. You can alternatively use an OBD plug in like a ScanGauge II to show specific values like trans temp and such.

Been using Bimmerlink for some time and while its a great app for live monitoring of sensor data, the time intervals at which it records during data logging causes the data log to be unusable. I've yet to see an option to change it.
Also, i've seen phantom 'Knock' recorded on several occasions. For everything else it can do, still a great app. New battery registration, exhaust flap control, fault code reading/clearing etc. |

I don't. I keep my vehicles stock because I'm not interested in chasing down problems caused by tunes and FBO.
There's a reason why the majority of problem cars have tunes or FBO.
