X7 Wheel Swap

Ordered a '21 M50i with 22" 758i wheels. I'd rather have the 22" 757 wheels that are only offered on the 40i model. The wheel specs are the same in diameter, width and offset. Anyone know if swapping them would present a problem? I might consider a trade if anyone has a brand new set of 757 wheels. My new M50i will be delivered the week of 30 November.

No problems. It’ll be a straight swap.
It may look odd to most given you’ll have non-MSport wheels on an MSport but it’s your car.

Nice 20 inch wheel for X7

I had exactly the same problem, I have the base 40i model which comes with a 20 inch wheel (750) in our country, which is not the prettiest at all. But I like the 20 size, because the tires are much cheaper, the ride is comfier and also here the roads are very bad quality.

So after spending a few hours searching the BMW parts catalogs, I found the 777 wheels which are specced for the 7 series, actually the nicest wheel for the luxury sedan.

I ordered 4 front 777 wheels to exactly match my 750s in size, so I could keep all the tires (summer + winter).

(I know there is 10 mm difference in the offset, but that's not an issue, because 750 is the narrowest wheel for the X7.)

I don't have an URL of my car's photo, I just post the press photo of the 777 wheels:

I know your pain. I had my X7 built and two days later I tried to change wheels to the 758i 22" wheels but it was too late because production had already started. The dealer was trying to work with me on doing something after I pressed the issue. Then once he said the 22" tires on those wheels have a lifespan of 7k miles.....I was thankful that it didn't allow me to change it😂

I've had my M50i for three weeks now, with about 700 miles driven. The delivered 758i Msport wheels have grown on me, so I'll keep them. The ride is exceptional, even on roads that challenged my previous two cars, a 2014 750Li (21" wheels) and a 2016 X5 with 20", both Msport models. I've read reviews where folks claim incredibly low usage on certain tires, and in my experience, the exact same tire lasted 3-4 times longer. Not sure what they're doing to wear them down so fast...

I agree, on my X5 with 20" summer performance tires I got 20k/30k out of the rears/fronts (Pirelli P Zero RFT) where people were complaining about getting less then 10k.

I would love to see the 757 style 22" wheels on an X7 with the MSport package, if anyone ever does that.

Ha....I was thinking about that option and had did a quick raw photoshop on my phone to give me a visual of how it would look....I wasn't in love with so decided to pass. I think the black hockey stick would need to be painted or wrapped white to look better in my opinion.

This is the 758i wheel in black from an RDBLA YouTube video. They wrapped the X7 in a pearl white wrap. They said the owner looks like he sprayed the wheels in Plasti Dip black. Looks okay from a distance but I doubt that it would hold up for long from rock chips, car wash, road salt and grime, not to mention the how you would have to use caution on cleaning them without rubbing off a section.

I've used plasti dip on many occasions for motorcycle parts. Beautiful thing is if u don't like the finish product, it simply peels right off.
