Faulty Fly Wheel on Manual Transmission
Over the past few months (from around 20,000 miles) I had noticed a juddering on pulling away as the clutch engages. On occassion, the car felt like it would shake to bits. I have also become tired of the car as it was becoming very difficult to drive with a heavy clutch pedal. whilst in for a service, I asked the dealer to look at it. They diagnosed a faulty Dual Mass Flywheel and Clutch. These parts were replaced (they need to be replaced together) and I cannot tell you how good the car feels now!
The clutch is fantastically light and progressive. I don't remember it being this good from new. Thoughts of changing it for a C Class are now gone and the prospect of 2 more years performance motoring is now a filling me with joy instead of dread. Even the fuel economy has improved due to a smoother dirve. Upwards of 30mpg is achievable on a daily basis. My message to anyone with MT and getting a sore left leg, should look into this.
