Replacing turbos-What else to do while in there?

Hey everyone. My turbos finally let loose, and I have a set of pure 600's on order. Since my them for this car is "while i am in there", i want to go ahead and take care of any other bullshit i might encounter or need to take care of at some point...

I already have inlets on order as well as they are required for the turbos. I ordered a new RB Turbo PCV valve as well, and good thing too as my valve cover gasket just let loose this week as well...

Is there anything else I should look at doing while I am in there?

For reference, I have already done:
-New motor mounts
-m3 control arms
-entire cooling system in less then 100 miles
-intercooler
-charge pipe
-catch can

I don't think (hoping) there is much else to do, but was hoping for feedback in case I am missing something. Just want to be done with all the maintenance, lol.

oil pan gasket/oil level sensor o-ring
upper o2 sensors

Rod bearings if you don't mind a few hours of extra work. They aren't hard to do.

The oil pan gasket probably isn't a bad idea. I'm definitely not going to do rod bearings...

Do the rod bearings. It’s $200 in parts and it’s worth it. Not one n54 I’ve done bearings on has had perfect bearings. Check my post history.

People that deny rod bearings are an issue on this platform are fools.

Yeah if you decide to impact the caps back on, sure. Bearings are a cake walk. Just make sure things are clean and torqued properly.

These engines have bearing issues. Period. Denial by part of the community doesn’t change that aspect. I’ve personally done bearings on multiple n54s. They all have shown wear.

Here’s a bearing I pulled from a auto xdrive with 100k. Stock turbos. Well maintained. https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1737521

You’re rolling the dice if you don’t look into it imo. Would be a shitty thing to end up with rod knock and to destroy those new turbos with metal shavings.

I did the bearings on my 6062 car about 10k ago. I bounce it off rev limiter more than I should, and I’ve had no issues since reassembly.

I did my oil pan gasket, it was leaking like a bitch. Other than that, new engine mounts, and all oil and water lines from turbo's...you don't want to go there again for one of them leaking. Dropping that heavy subframe is no fun.

That was actually going to be the next thing i thought of. I really don't want to spend any more money then I have, but i'm thinking i may be wanting to replace those as well. My car has been a florida car all it's life, so no real rust/corrosion concerns, but wasn't sure how flimsy the oem units can be.

Lucky you. Mine is/was a New England car most of it's life; 2 studs broke off in the engine when I removed old turbos, rusted to death. I had to drill from a weird angle under the car with a 90 degree drill, and tap for threads, etc.
It became a 3 weeks exercise (with all the oil pan , reassembly all up, etc).

Anything I do on this car, if I haven't touched it before, it's a cutting with Dremel exercise...

Replace the crankshaft while you're there.
