JB+ Review

Ok so I literally just received my JB+ and got it installed. Have it set to the default setting which is a little more than half way.
Didn't feel any jerkiness at all. Transmission is still shifting quick but.......

I feel like it changed the cars character (not so much of a good thing).
Yes the top end pulls harder but it's not as snappy at low RPM's as it was before (on Sport Plus).

Have any you felt the same way ?

Same story on my 330. You basically laid it out: more turbo lag in exchange for pulling harder higher up. Maybe someone can give a proper technical explanation, but I would assume it's cutting fueling due to thinking boost is low, for efficiency. JB+ tricks it into thinking boost is low, so it waits for boost to build to 'normal' levels.

Personally, I don't mind as I'm not in a rush to get to ~45mph or lower. Still responsive enough in comfort, but pulls harder when I actually get a chance to put it into Sport+ and give it more than 50% throttle.

Yeah I'm not sure what the technical answer would be but I'm sure it has to do something with that.
I just increased the boost so we'll see how that goes

The JB+ makes more power and more torque across the power band. Behind the wheel will feel the top end pull a little more now making the torque gain not as noticeable but at no point do you make less torque than factory.

the Jb+ adds the same amount of boost across the RPM, it does not add any turbo lag

I was about to put another update. I am trying different things, such as going slightly lower on the dial and see if there is a "sweet" spot. I've been driving on max boost and its been a very enjoyable "kick" experience on the higher RPM (past 3)

I just lowered it to 4'0 clock. I want to say, it feels more even. I'll post a quick update.

If I get a chance, ill post the pic in my thread. But I was pretty careful to be right on 4'o clock. I used a fine flat head to gently adjust. So far, its been good. Can't wait to drive home after work today lol

In your opinion, is here a setting that is best for you? Or do you just turn it up all the way? Curious how other users are feeling about it.

That's the 2'o clock. The default setting was on 3'o clock. In a simple way, that is probably a bit less than 2psi over stock, since the 5'o clock max boost was said to be 4.5 psi over stock. So 1.75?

Just my best guesstimate.

I'm still trying to find the right setting
It's more of a trial and error for me.
I removed it, felt how it was factory again and now I just put it back lol. So we'll see.

I was honestly impressed.
Felt a little kick after 3k but pulled harder throughout the entire power band.

I see! Makes me looking forward to it. May be more isn't better with jb+. Perhaps lighter boost works better with the car's engine tuning and the transmission.

lots of factors In play, last but not least traction control. Sometimes lower boost makes more power with a smoother delivery.

Barring any mechanical issue (that can be causing misfires with higher boost) or traction control problems, this car should be able to handle all the boost it can get from the JB+

Good point. Since most people aren't going to turn off the TC, I'll try the lower boost soon. But the REAL 5'o clock hasn't been tried, so Ill do that soon.
