Options to make power without E85

I made a video explaining why E85 is so important on our cars, and how you can increase your HP if you don't have E85 available at the pump. Hope this helps.

Thanks for taking the time to make this helpful video for those of us who don't have access to Ethanol or even reasonable octane gasoline.

Only problem I've yet to see somebody confirming the power gains from a bigger turbo running on Gasoline only.

Are those gains worth the $XXX of the bigger turbo and also sacrificing some low rpm extra spooling time ?

Also why didn't you mention your CSF heat exchanger, shouldn't it also help with lower IATs and slightly improve power ?

Thanks mate.

i like the video , but i have also one question , what if you would mix toluene into the fuel ? it has an octane value of 120 i believe . also higher energy content compared to ethanol , but its nastier

Video coming tomorrow about turbo upgrades and later this week about fuel upgrades. This is a spoiler for some of the content I'm including, but here is the best example I've seen on pump gas. Although it's a Supra, it's just a TU pump (their stock pump), 93 oct, and a huge turbo, making 550whp. On a dynojet it would likely be over 600whp.

And here are comments from Peter @ Pure EU on their Pure800 on their pump gas development.

So then when adding ethanol to get around E40 we saw an increase in timing and power bumped to 580whp on the same map pointing in the same direction to at this point more octane was needed. However jumping from 93 to E40 added 15% more stress on the fuel system causing it to bail out around the 580whp mark. So we then added meth as fuel volume to see where we could get with 26-27 psi.

...

For sure you may see 600whp on pump fuel at higher boost than 23 psi. But I would say around 530-550whp may be a safe start for pump fuel at 21-23 psi.
The CSF Heat exchanger would definitely help but I thought I'd keep this topic on octane only. I have another video about the CSF heat exchanger that I posted a few weeks ago.

Not familiar with that one. I'd stick with what's readily available and tested.

Boostane or racegas are nice alternatives to give a solid octane boost for those without e85 if it wasn't mentioned. (I'll watch the video when not at work)

I didn't mention it because some people have adverse affects. It might be something you can use from time to time, but I don't recommend long term use.

My opinion: a methanol feed unit is a universal remedy. You can use it only when necessary and it is easy to create your own firmware for it with JB4. At 98/100 / 102Ron, methanol will give an additional 35 / 85whp, depending on your turbine type. Stoke or hybrid turbo. I was able to squeeze out of the GC 626whp using WMI at 100Ron + 30% E85. And 520whp on a simple 100Ron. And 580WHP on 100Ron + WMI.

That's the main reason it's popular. And when you're done with the car, you can pull it and swap to the next one. Very convenient, the user just needs to do their due diligence to maintain the system and monitor how the car is running.
