So, I bought the m4 style spoiler for my m240i, and it doesn't seem to fit. It has a gap the entire length of the spoiler. I've tried reinstalling with the same result.

Is it supposed to fit like this? Anyone else's experience would be appreciated.

Garage List
I'd recommend heating it up (heat gun/blow dryer) and then using extra 3M tape in those areas.

I cannot address the fit, as I wound up buying an original BMW spoiler. But, I would advise against relying on any amount of just tape. Adhesives are sensitive to temperature, surface preparation, amount and duration of application pressure. BMW recommends BetaLink. You wouldn't want to be the driver behind a car when a spoiler comes loose at highway speeds, just at about following-driver head level.

No, it's hollow all the way through the length of the spoiler. I can see light from either side looking into it. It doesn't wrap around trunk lid like I thought it would. The tape sticks it on without issue, but the hollow gap won't go away.

Almost as if it's raised off the trunk lid.

I use an adhesive called Tiger Seal. You'll have an equivalent across the pond for sure. I've fitted my last two spoilers using it and trust me they ain't coming off.

That's not the issue. The spoiler doesn't contour with the trunk lid. It's almost like a tunnel.

Zoom towards the spoiler end. You'll see it's not touching the trunk.

Looks good. I've just decided to go with the m2 style spoiler instead. Hopefully this one works.
