Is this a car part?
I found this in the garage under the car - covered in grease on one side.
Could be from a kid's hoverboard or something...or could be from my car (330i x-drive). Thanks for any advice! |

I'd start looking under your car with a good led flashlight (100 lumens works good for me).
I'm thinking that maybe it's part of the underside near your rocker panels...but your underskirt would be different than mine. I'll brb with a realoem page of our undercladding...maybe that'll help?

I wouldn’t even know where to look with this part but maybe I’ll get lucky and it’ll be obvious - thanks for the diagram you sent though! Cheers- |

It may be a 'battery door cover' that's on the bottom side of your lighted door threshold pieces. https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=51_8545

I called the dealer on day one to see if they knew and offered to send a picture just to confirm it’s a part...and they wouldn’t accept a picture - insisted I bring the car in. I didn’t want to waste anyone’s time if it’s not even a part of the car, but not going to happen. So thanks to all who have offered advice - it’s still a mystery and I keep the garage pretty spotless so it’s weird that this showed up. |

You can just check the bottom of the doors to see if there is an opening on one and not the other which could accept that part.
