Paint of roof moulding

Hello,

I have a 2015 F30 and have noticed that the paint on the roof moulding is bubbling. This happened to both the left and right side. Looks like it's rusting from the bottom.

Did anyone here experienced such issues? I thought the whole trim was plastic and this shouldn't happen.

I guess anything is possible but if it was a used car, then it is tough to know what happened prior to you getting it. Also where is it parked - garage/outdoors/under an awning?

I park in an underground parking at home and outdoors during work hours.

This is a very common issue with F30. I know tons of people who have the same thing.

My 2013 328 had it as well.

I have a 2015 328i and I recently noticed the same thing. Now that I’ve seen this thread sounds like it’s common. Wish I had a solution for us.

I have the same issue on my 2015 F36.
Will talk to the local shop to see if it can be covered under warranty.
If not I will get them resprayed at my go-to painter
